As you may have heard, the Wisconsin Coordinating Council on Nicaragua is now officially Working Capital for Community Needs. The name change comes at a poignant time in WCCN's history, our 25th anniversary. In 2009, we invite you to look for exciting changes as we begin lending capital to microfinance institutions in additional Latin American countries.
Extending our lending into other countries is an expansion and not a detraction from our current projects. We remain committed to the working poor of Nicaragua and to taking a holistic approach to our social justice work through promoting housing and women's empowerment initiatives, as well as access to education and fair markets.
We would like to thank all of our supporters over the last 25 years for their unwavering commitment to social and economic justice in Nicaragua. We hope you will join us as we set forth toward the future as Working Capital for Community Needs!
